We’re making big transitions during these last days of summer - not a great time of year for changes but what can you do? Our beloved 15 year old yorkshire terrier, Phoebe Daphne, Cloe, Zoey, Boopsy, Brannon, Leib is dying. We’re taking her to the vet tomorrow but we knew her weak kidneys would ultimately fail. I’ve been holding her all morning and now she’s lying on a heating pad. She’s been with us since before we married. It will be a dark day when she leaves us.
On the bright side, MitzvahBoy entered first grade at Lewis Elementary after spending two years at the Hillel School of Tampa, I’ve completed my first video free-lance assignment for the Children’s Campaign as well starting a new gig in medical records with Central Hillsborough Healthy Start. And Mark is looking forward to a New York reading of his new play on the Holocaust, “A River in the Desert.”
I wish, I wish we were A. cruising through Alaska looking at ice-bergs and feasting on salmon or B. on a plane to Denver to watch the kookiness surrounding the Democratic Convention. Instead we’re in the humid, smelly, sticky daily life in the hot swamp that is Tampa constantly trapping the floating detritus that a young child drops and drips in every square inch of the house. So for some related diversion, here’s a well-produced video found and shared by Mr. Gamson.
